Amateur
Radio
From KE5DDZ
Greetings from Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. Grid: DM65oa. Bear with me as I get things written, built and uploaded.
It's taking a bit more time than I'd anticipated, but I'll get it done. I'm
usually monitoring one of the 2 meter
frequencies -- 145.330
MHz That's the repeater for the Amateur
Radio Caravan Club (the ARCC) of which I am a member.
We have a new club website, thanks to Mark Goodrum, KD5KSM!
Thanks Mark! You Rock!
The club newsletters are available on the club website, It is published it in PDF format (which is Adobe Reader
format) so you could either read it on your computer screen, or print it up for
posterity!
If you do not currently have Adobe Reader, you can download the reader
here
for free.
Thanks,
Paula, KE5DDZ
Locally, I'm also a member of the Albuquerque
Amateur Radio Club (AARC), and of the Upper
Rio FM Society. Nationally, I am a member of the American
Radio Relay League (ARRL). Please feel free to use these links (or the
links below) to learn more about the various
amateur radio organizations -- including meeting times and places and
membership info. You can also navigate the various links in order to learn
more about amateur radio.

Today's Date: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~A number of my "non-ham" friends have asked me, "Paula, why in the heck are you into ham radio? What's the point? Like... Why bother with it when there are computers, the Internet, and cell phones?" Well, there are LOTS of reasons and for those of you who do not know much about amateur (ham) radio . . . Here are some links that will hopefully help explain the answers to those questions. "What Can Amateur Radio Operators Do?" ~ there you can read about how to get involved or Scroll Down to the portion of the page of the same title (What Can Amateur Radio Operators Do?) Come back and visit my site again real soon. I hope to be updating and adding
things every so often -- for a while anyway. ~More stuff & more links to come,
soon.
For now,
73!
